1st of October 

🎲🐍 Floor Snakes & Ladders Fun! 🪜✨

Who says board games are just for the table? Today we went BIG with a life-sized Floor Snakes & Ladders game right here in the lounge! Residents took turns rolling the giant dice, moving across the colorful board, and of course climbing those ladders (or sliding down a sneaky snake or two!).

The laughter was contagious, and everyone loved the mix of movement, teamwork, and a little friendly competition. Games like this are a brilliant way to bring people together, encourage gentle exercise, and spark plenty of smiles.

4th of October 

💅 Residents and staff enjoyed a relaxing afternoon in Margaret’s Beauty Salon today! What better way to spend a wet and windy Saturday than being pampered and chatting with friends? ❤️✨

7th of October 

Today Margaret had our brains working animals and insects from a to z some of the answers were omg , asked a staff member naming no names a pet beginning with the letter C her answer was ?? A Camel 🐪 😂😂

9th of October

Residents enjoyed a mix of word searches and colouring — keeping our brains sharp! 🧠🎨

Myra worked her magic today, and just look how gorgeous our ladies look! 💅✨

We also had our bingo winners this afternoon… there’s always one cheeky winner in the group! 😄🎉

🧤Getting cosy and creative!
This afternoon we got hands-on in preparation for the colder weather ahead — making our very own homemade hand warmers!
Everyone enjoyed choosing their socks and filling them up, ready to keep those fingers toasty this autumn! 🍂

14th of October 

🧠✨ Morning Mind Warm-Up! ✨🧠

We kicked off the day with some fun wordsearches to get everyone’s brains buzzing and ready for the day ahead! It’s always lovely to see the concentration, smiles, and little celebrations when someone finds that tricky word. 💪🔍

A great way to start the morning — relaxed, focused, and full of good spirits! 🌞💬

🍂🧁 Autumn in the Air! 🧁🍂

Today the smell of autumn spices filled the air as we baked and decorated delicious carrot cake cupcakes — full of flavour and fun! 🎃✨

To make things even more seasonal, some of us tried chai pumpkin spiced lattes — the perfect cosy treat for a crisp autumn day. ☕🍁

Lots of smiles, sweet scents, and a real taste of autumn all around! 💛

This morning, Dave hosted a fun quiz on movies and TV shows from the 60s and 70s — with a little help from his dog, Tony! 🎬🐾

Later, Myra’s granddaughter joined us and spent time playing with some of the residents, sharing plenty of cuddles along the way. 💕 It’s always so lovely to see those smiles and the special bond between generations. 😊✨

17th of October

🐶 Meet Gus!

Connor brought in his adorable new puppy for a visit this morning — and it’s safe to say he stole everyone’s hearts! ❤️ It’s amazing how a little puppy can change the whole atmosphere of the home. Staff and residents were all so delighted to meet him! 🐾

🚴‍♂️ Rickshaw Adventures

This morning, Hugh, Kath, Ian, and Brian enjoyed a lovely ride on the Rickshaw Bike along the front of Dunoon and back — the last one of the season! A huge thank you to Duncan for an amazing few months of wonderful rides and memories. 🌤️💛

🇩🇪 Oktoberfest Fun! 🍺🎉

This afternoon, we stepped into Germany for our very own Oktoberfest celebrations! 🎶

We started by naming as many German cities as we could (turns out we’ve got some real geography whizzes among us! 😉), then got competitive with our Masskrugstemmen — the traditional tankard-holding challenge! 💪🍻 Staff, residents, and even family members joined in the fun.

After all that effort, we tucked into some tasty pretzels 🥨 and sampled a classic German wheat beer, Erdinger — which went down a treat! 🍺

It was a day full of laughter, cheer, and friendly competition. Prost! 🍻💙

20th of October

🎬🍿 This afternoon at Ardnahein, we enjoyed a cosy movie day on the big screen — and what better choice for the spooky season than The Addams Family! 🕸️💀✨

Everyone loved the laughs, the music, and of course, that iconic click click! 👻🎶 It was the perfect way to relax after a busy morning of Halloween decorating. 🎃🕷️

What a fun-filled day we had at Ardnahein! 🎃👻

This morning, we got our brains buzzing with a 1960s-themed word search — and a big well done to Betty, who managed to find every word! 🧠✨ Meanwhile, Kath and Brian tried out an AI-generated video app and came up with some spooky and downright hilarious creations featuring themselves and our Halloween decorations. 💀🎥 The room was full of laughter as we watched the final results — pure Halloween magic! 🕸️😂

In the afternoon, things got competitive with our Turnip Newspaper Run! 🏃‍♂️ Mhairi, Brian, and Hugh gave it their all — but it was Hugh who took the win! 🥇👏

🎶 What a lively day we’ve had at Ardnahein! 🪇✨

This morning, our music group was in full swing — maracas shaking, tambourines jingling, and plenty of happy faces all around! 💃🕺 There’s truly nothing like good music to lift the spirits and fill the room with joy. ❤️🎵

In the afternoon, some of us took a lovely walk along the front towards Innellan, enjoying the fresh air and spotting a few friendly ducks along the way. 🦆🌤️ A perfect way to end a cheerful day! 🌸

💅 This evening, Emma popped in and helped some of the ladies get ready for Halloween with a spooky nail pamper session! 🎃🕸️ Everyone loved having their nails painted and getting into the festive spirit. This morning was full of creativity and colour as we teamed up with the lovely children from Patchwork Nursery ELC to make a stunning autumn-inspired artwork! 🧩✨ Together, we turned jigsaw puzzle pieces into beautiful falling leaves — a perfect celebration of the season. 🍂🌳 With teamwork, imagination, and plenty of smiles, we created something truly special! 💛

🎃🥅 Pumpkin Shinty Fun! 🥅🎃

This afternoon brought laughter and friendly competition with our Pumpkin Shinty game! Using pool noodles as sticks, a blow-up pumpkin as the ball, and zimmer frames as goals — it was pure creative chaos in the best way possible! 😂🧡 Everyone joined in, cheering each other on for some brilliant goals and plenty of giggles!
